The Braywick Nature Centre is situated in an old stable block, originally part of the estate belonging to Braywick Lodge.
The 19th century mansion house was demolished in 1969, where the current car park stands, however the stables were refurbished in 1989 to provide a centre for environmental activities in the borough.
Offering outstanding nature experiences for children and families, the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead’s hub for environmental education is Braywick Nature Centre.
Set on the edge of a beautiful nature reserve, the staff at Braywick Nature Centre create a memorable and immersive learning experiences for families, conservation groups and primary schools. They help children and adults to learn about nature through their senses and their creativity, using both traditional and contemporary approaches to nature education.
The nature centre now houses displays and exhibitions on wildlife, sustainability and local history, and has a large classroom for use by schools and other groups, however, it is only open to the public when events are taking place.
Braywick Local Nature Reserve is open to the public all year round.






Braywick Nature Park is to be found past Braywick Cemetery on Braywick Road which heads out of Maidenhead and towards Windsor. The Nature Centre is a left turning onto Hibbert Road, and there is a free small car park opposite the Nature Centre from which you can walk around the area.
